This week we’ve seen excessive winds, cool nights and sunny spells. I’m at that stage when I’m desirous to get every thing out into the backyard, nevertheless it’s all a little bit of a threat. Is anybody else feeling related?
Let’s get began.
The Kolkwitzia is about to burst right into a fluffy cloud of pink blooms.
Aquilegia – grown from seed final 12 months, so I needed to wait a 12 months for them to flower. Not an ideal specimen, however fairly. It was shy and stood with its head down and away from the digital camera (a bit like me then!). I do know that they self-seed as soon as they get going.
The Alium (in final week’s six) are actually into their full heads. The foxgloves (seen behind) will quickly be out.
Purple Bugle – little bit of a weed to some gardeners, I think, however they’re loved by the visiting bees.
The primary of the crimson Peonies is out. This one had a tiny spider hiding within the petals.
Final picture is of a pink (extraordinary) Weigela, versus final week’s variegated one.
Be a part of me tomorrow after I can be interviewing Fred about his backyard within the first of a collection I’ve deliberate to focus on a number of fellow Six On Saturday gardeners and their gardens.
