The most recent monitor is taken from The Orielles’ forthcoming album Tableau.
With their new single, Halifax-based The Orielles reveal the sound of their fourth album Tableau. That includes propulsive rhythm and dreamlike vocals, the music leads right into a fantasy-like world that was first launched on their debut Silver Greenback Second.
The monitor was recorded within the autumn/winter of 2020, at Eve Studios in Stockport. The band’s drummer Sidonie Hand-Halford elaborates on the music: “We had spent a day there, simply jamming concepts. Clearly, we’d spent the previous 5 or 6 months in lockdown, not likely in a position to spend a lot time with each other, so we had been all bursting with concepts and hadn’t jammed collectively in so lengthy. The way in which we write may be very jammy, very reactionary with one another, and we actually missed that. Placing us collectively on this room at Eve Studios, it was magical”. The lyrics had been written line-by-line by every member of the band.
Tableau will likely be launched on 7 October through Heavenly Recordings.
