Report Says Sadiq Khan “Did not Observe Due Course of” Over Ousting of Cressida Dick
An unbiased report launched this morning by Sir Thomas Winsor has condemned Sadiq Khan for failing to observe “due course of” over the ousting of former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick, after he withdrew his help for the Commissioner earlier this yr. Winsor claims Khan successfully acted outdoors his remit and past the legislation…
Winsor writes:
”[Khan] did not respect the dignity of the Commissioner as a person, and because the holder of excessive public workplace… On this case, not one of the statutory steps set out in part 48 of the Police Reform and Social Duty Act 2011 and summarised above had been adopted.The Commissioner was given a really brief interval during which to contemplate her place following that information. She was left able whereby she felt, even when others may need felt otherwise, that she had no choice however to announce that she would step apart, partly to guard the Metropolitan Police itself.”
Khan himself is inevitably shifting the blame, insisting the report “is clearly biased and ignores the information“. No surprises there…
