‘P-Valley’ Star J. Alphonse Apologizes For Homophobic Skit: ‘Want I would Gone with My First Intuition & Not Performed It’


Along with his groundbreaking character “Lil Murda” on STARZ’ breakout hit sequence ‘P-Valley,’ actor J. Alphonse Nicholson has discovered himself on the middle of a myriad of polarizing and progressive conversations about illustration of Black LGBTQ+ characters on tv.

In a skit featured on the ‘Rory & Mal’ podcast lately, J. Alphonse rolls a joint with the present’s hosts who later refuse to smoke after him as a result of he portrays a homosexual man on TV.

Though the actor claims the exhibiting was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek approach to deliver consciousness to the ‘ignorance’ members of the LGBTQ+ group face, he took to Twitter Friday (September 9) to confess it was performed in poor style.

“I actually loved doing the Mal & Rory interview. However I wished to deal with the skit that’s being proven separate from the interview,” he stated within the video assertion seen above. “The skit, I used to be advised, was to be performed to make enjoyable on the rumors and ignorance that folks encompass myself, and the character [with]. And me having my very own pressure, and other people not desirous to smoke after me due to the character that I play, Lil Murda.”

After the reason, J. Alphonse issued a proper apology and shared his regret.

“That skit was suppose to deliver a certain quantity of consideration to the interview, and I imagine it’s doing the precise reverse.
