Nationalism’s place of confidence, not subservience… – Slugger O’Toole

We dwell in attention-grabbing instances. Did you ever assume you’ll see the day that Sinn Fein’s Alex Maskey would ship a message of condolence to the brand new UK King?

Even stranger was the pleasant chit-chat between King Charles and Michelle O’Neill.  To high it off, poor Sir Jeffrey obtained roasted in entrance of his new King.

Sinn Fein performed a PR masterstroke yesterday that left Sir Jeff and the DUP wanting like minor bit-players.

Let that sink in: take your time, possibly go for a stroll or make a cup of tea.

On Gladys’ publish, Toye Native commented:

At present was a Good day for the numerous (fortress) Catholics in NI, and to strengthen their emotions with the UK,
As they seen SF give lip service to the late Queen and the exhausting work King Charles has completed, plus a number one Catholic priest giving thanks at right this moment’s service, Then SF standing up for the nationwide anthem.

what you see as comfortable nationalist I see as comfortable unionist with a nationalist identify

That is undoubtedly not what I noticed. I noticed assured Nationalism on show not simply by Sinn Fein but in addition by President Michael D. Higgins, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, in addition to the SDLP and different politicians. I noticed a spirit of generosity and outreach.

Northern Eire has modified dramatically since Charles’ mom ascended the throne. Sinn Fein is now the most important get together, and Michelle O’Neill is First Minister in ready.

The Republic of Eire is now ready the place it’s  richer than the UK per capita, and with a larger high quality of life.

The massive query in all that is when will Unionism reciprocate Nationalism’s generosity and outreach?
