Natalie Service provider has introduced that her ninth studio album, Hold Your Braveness, might be launched by Nonesuch on April 14. It’s her first album of recent materials since 2014’s self-titled document.
Hold Your Braveness options two duets sung with Abena Koomson-Davis of Resistance Revival Refrain, plus contributions from the Celtic folks group Lúnasa and Syrian virtuoso clarinetist Kinan Azmeh, and horn preparations by jazz trombonist Steve Davis. Together with 9 unique songs by Service provider, it consists of an interpretation of “Searching The Wren” by Ian Lynch of Lankum.
“The songs contained inside this album had been written and recorded in the course of the world pandemic that started within the winter of 2019,” says Service provider. “However this isn’t an album in regards to the coronavirus or the chaos it brought about.
