Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac has paid tribute to his ex-bandmate Christine McVie following her passing on November 30.
In a handwritten word posted on Instagram, the lead guitarist wrote: “Christine McVie’s sudden passing is profoundly heartbreaking. Not solely have been she and I a part of the magical household of Fleetwood Mac, to me Christine was a musical comrade, a buddy, a soul mate, a sister. For over 4 many years, we helped one another create a wonderful physique of labor and an enduring legacy that continues to resonate right this moment.”
“I really feel very fortunate to have recognized her. Although she will probably be deeply missed, her spirit will reside on by means of that physique of labor and that legacy.”
Buckingham joins Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood in paying respects to McVie. Nicks addressed her tribute to her “finest buddy in the entire world”, writing, “since Saturday, one track has been swirling round in my head, time and again and over. I believed I would probably get to sing it to her, and so, I’m singing it to her now. I all the time knew I would want these phrases at some point. (Written by the Women Haim). It’s all I can do now…”
Fleetwood reminded followers to cherish their family members in his tribute to McVie, writing, “A part of my coronary heart has flown away right this moment..I’ll miss all the pieces about you Christine McVie. Reminiscences abound..they fly to me.”
McVie handed away on November 30 after struggling a brief sickness, although the reason for her demise has not been disclosed publicly. The singer-songwriter, who penned “Little Lies”, “In all places”, and “Songbird” amongst many different timeless hits, left the band shortly after they have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame in 1998 however reunited with the group in 2014.
