Months after Kanye West first made headlines for a string of antisemitic feedback, fallout from the controversial statements continues.
Thursday (December 7), the College of the Artwork Institute of Chicago confirmed the GRAMMY winner’s honorary doctorate diploma they issued him had been rescinded in response to his “harmful” stance on Jewish communities.

Taking to Billboard, a rep from the college spoke concerning the hoopla presently surrounding West.
“The College of the Artwork Institute of Chicago condemns and repudiates Kanye West’s (now know as Ye) anti-Black, antisemitic, racist, and harmful statements, significantly these directed at Black and Jewish communities,” the college shared in an announcement. “Ye’s actions don’t align with SAIC’s mission and values, and we’ve rescinded his honorary diploma.”
The assertion arrived shortly after college students from the establishment launched a petition calling for the dignity to be snatched from the rapper. As soon as phrase reached the college’s president, Elissa Tenny, she issued an official assertion.
“After listening to from lots of you, and conferring with the Board of Governors, the honorary diploma awarded to Kanye West has been rescinded,” the letter, written by Tenny, learn.
West’s diploma rescission adopted his extremely publicized interview with Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, during which the ‘Gold Digger‘ star urged Jewish individuals to “forgive Hitler.”
“Jewish individuals can’t inform me who I can love and who I can’t love,” he mentioned within the 45-minute interview titled “Saving Ye” on Censored.TV. “Jewish individuals — forgive Hitler at this time. Let it go. Let it go. Cease attempting to drive it on different individuals.”
His chat with McInnes comes as reiteration of earlier reward the emcee lent to Hitler, suggesting notorious German dictator – accountable for ordering the genocide of over six million Jews throughout the Holocaust – “did good issues.”
