Fireplace crews sort out early-morning blaze at Scots resort as visitors evacuated and roads closed


FIRE crews are battling a significant blaze at a Scots resort this morning.

Emergency providers raced to the New County Resort in Perth simply after 5am.

Photographs from the scene present a lot of fireplace engines, ambulances and police automobiles within the space.

Visitors have been evacuated from the resort.

County Place, Hospital Road, Leonard Road and New Row have been cordoned off with residents being suggested to keep away from the realm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “Shortly earlier than 5.10am on Monday, 2 January, 2023, police have been known as to a report of a fireplace on the New County Resort, County Place, Perth.

A press release from Perth and Kinross Council mentioned: Remember that site visitors within the surrounding space can also be prone to be impacted in addition to public transport routes. Please keep away from the realm in the event you can.”
