Final avocado on toast recipe


Since tasting this avocado toast at a easy restaurant in Nashville over Summer time, I’ve by no means seemed again. I’ve made it each single week since.

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • First make the pickled shallot. Peel the shallot and slice into skinny rounds.

    1 purple shallot

  • Add the shallot to a small bowl or dish and pour over the purple wine vinegar. Stir collectively and permit to take a seat for 10 minutes, when you make the remainder of the recipe.

    2 tbsp purple wine vinegar

  • Slice the avocado in half. Take away the stone and scoop out the flesh. Place in a bowl.

    1 giant ripe, avocado

  • Add the lime juice, salt and pepper and roughly mash the avocado with the again of a fork. I like a lumpy texture, however you’ll be able to mash for longer in order for you it smoother.

    1 purple Fresno chilli, 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds, 1 tbsp sunflower seeds, 2 tbsp chopped contemporary coriander, 3 tbsp crumbled feta cheese

  • Add 6-7 pickled shallot slices to every plate and serve. I prefer to serve with the remainder of the shallot, so I can add a bit extra while i am consuming.

✎ Notes

Additions:

  • A drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil – I typically add this if my avocado is not as mushy and buttery as I prefer it.
  • Crispy chopped-up bacon items – one among Chris’s favorite additions
  • Strive rubbing the toasted bread with a the cut-side of half a clove of garlic. This imparts a pleasant garlicky flavour and a little bit of a bruschetta really feel.
  • Very skinny slices of tomato. I prefer to go for yellow or inexperienced heritage tomatoes (yellow are fairly mild-flavoured, inexperienced are a bit extra tangy) if I’ve them in, or I will typically use skinny slices of purple cherry tomatoes. Go together with your favorite selection.
