The Cooperative Institute for Analysis in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) is looking for to rent an Affiliate Scientist to collaborate on analyses of wildfire and local weather at regional to continental scales, using the newly launched North American Tree-Ring Hearth-Scar Community (NAFSN). The finalist will work with a collaborative group funded by the USGS Powell Middle for Evaluation and Synthesis. The objective of the mission is to mix historic (tree-ring) and trendy (satellite tv for pc) data of fireside and local weather to achieve distinctive insights into the dynamics of multi-century fire-climate relationships and their implications for future fireplace danger throughout North America.
