Joe Biden has signed a condolence guide for Queen Elizabeth on the UK embassy in Washington DC as he referred to as the late monarch “a terrific woman.”
The president and first woman had been greeted on the embassy by British Ambassador Dame Karen Pierce and her husband shortly earlier than 6pm ET, in line with a pool report.
Mr Biden requested the ambassador if he might write within the condolence guide, and he or she instructed him, “if you need to Sir.”
The president then sat at a desk the place the guide sat alongside {a photograph} of the Queen and a bouquet of flowers.
He then spent a number of minutes writing within the guide, as the primary woman, Jill Biden, stood subsequent to him. Ms Biden then sat within the chair and added her signature to the president’s message.

King Charles led tributes to his late mom, describing her as “a lot liked” and a “cherished sovereign”.
