This video makes use of knowledge gathered from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft to recreate among the beautiful views of the Moon that the Apollo 13 astronauts noticed on their perilous journey across the farside in 1970. These visualizations, in 4K decision, depict many various views of the lunar floor, beginning with earthset and dawn and concluding with the time Apollo 13 reestablished radio contact with Mission Management. Additionally depicted is the trail of the free return trajectory across the Moon, and a steady view of the Moon all through that path. All views have been sped up for timing functions — they aren’t proven in “real-time.”
