Keir Starmer has launched a sweary tirade at Boris Johnson, calling him a “bullshitter” who took the “piss” out of the general public.
The Labour chief turned the air blue along with his assault on the departing prime minister in an episode of The Relaxation Is Politics podcast.
He made the feedback every week after tradition secretary Nadine Dorries heckled him from the entrance bench calling him “boring”.
Starmer informed the presenters former Labour spinner Alastair Campbell and ex-Tory MP Rory Stewart: “I believe that he’s an entire bullshitter and I believe he’s been came upon.
“I’m actually struck with the partygate stuff as a result of it wasn’t simply that he did issues which broke the foundations it’s that he then took the piss out of the general public along with his ridiculous defences afterwards.
“And within the native elections, I settle for that not everybody on doorways was saying ‘it’s that that’s completed it for me’ however there was a normal realisation that this man bullshits and if he’s bullshitting about that, he’s in all probability bullshitting about the whole lot.
“All these items about levelling up, when folks can see there’s not a lot taking place round close to them, I believe there’s this sense that this man doesn’t imply a phrase that he says and that goes very, very deep.
“That’s why I don’t assume there’s ever any means again for him.”
It comes as Starmer is about to go head-to-head with Johnson one final time throughout Wednesday’s prime minister’s questions.
Tory MPs will vote on the PM’s successor between 1pm and 3pm, with the consequence introduced by Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 committee of Tory backbenchers, at 4pm.
The ultimate two candidates will then be put to celebration members to make the ultimate choice, with the winner introduced on September 5.
