Meet your Jousting Champion! | Days Out


Not acquainted with the medieval contest of jousting? Jousting tournaments have been in style from the start of the Center Ages till the 16th century, normally involving two knights on horseback charging in direction of one another with their lances.

Descended from the mighty Percy household of Northumberland, Sir Checkmate describes all of his earlier victories as “wonderful.” He freely admits that prize cash is his major motivation to compete in any match.

Sir Checkmate endeavours to compete at any price via truthful means or foul (normally foul!). He’s been banned from many a match floor for unhealthy behaviour previously and he’s definitely able to make his return to the world this 12 months.

Sir Archibald Douglas of Galloway

The jousts happen at 12.45pm and a pair of.30pm at Linlithgow, with entry to the occasion from 11.30am. At Caerlaverock the jousts happen at 12.30pm and a pair of.30pm, with entry to the occasion from 11am.

Spectacular Jousting takes place on 2 & 3 July 11.30am – 4.30pm at Linlithgow Palace, and 30 & 31 July 11am – 4pm at Caerlaverock Fort.
