The Deputy Minister for Psychological Well being and Effectively-being has introduced an extra £3.3m to help the implementation of the Strategic Psychological Well being Workforce plan in 2023-24.
The extra funding will take the annual funding by Welsh Authorities to implement the Plan to £6m in 2023-24.
The Strategic Psychological Well being Workforce Plan was developed by Well being Training and Enchancment Wales (HEIW) and Social Care Wales following in depth engagement, together with with customers of psychological well being providers. The plan was printed in November 2022.
The plan units out 33 actions to assist obtain a sustainable psychological well being workforce. It goals to enhance prevention and early intervention providers, in addition to addressing pressures on providers for individuals with extreme psychological well being wants. The plan is aligned to the 10-year Workforce Technique for Well being and Social Care in Wales.
