Neath Port Talbot councillors have accepted a £4.2m programme of ‘clear up and inexperienced up’ enhancements to cities, valleys and villages over the following 18 months.
Members of the Surroundings and Regeneration Streetscene Cupboard Board gave the go forward for the £4.2m further works programme at their assembly on Friday, December 2nd, 2022.
The programme will now see £200,000 spent on enhancements at public bogs, £445,000 on cleanliness (involving new electrical road vacuums and sweepers), £142,000 on improved grass mowing, £800,000 on improved playgrounds and inexperienced areas and £300,000 on improved bus shelters.
An additional £344,000 will go on footbridge upkeep, £201,000 on improved waste companies (together with further automobiles), simply over £1m will go on improved highways (jet patching of rural lanes, further surfacing within the valleys and pothole equipment) and £150,000 on further tree administration work.
Additionally, £200,000 will go on enhancements at Gnoll Nation Park (rebuild/re-design of bogs, electrical energy hook-up and an journey park), £50,000 will go on improved countryside buildings and £290,000 will likely be for ad-hoc enhancements on the Aberavon Seafront (together with the sunken gardens), Neath City Centre (planters and storage), restore/alternative of city and valley road indicators, the Talbot Memorial Park and Victoria Gardens bus stations.
The cash comes from further Welsh Authorities funding and the council’s accepted spending programme.
Council Chief, Cllr Steve Hunt stated:
