You and James Taylor return a great distance. Do you bear in mind the way you first met?
The Prisoners have been a younger group who performed with us (the Milkshakes) within the early Nineteen Eighties. Someday they turned up with an organ participant, Jamie. Jamie used to then borrow my Selmer guitar amp to play by.
You’ve revisited a couple of previous classics on this album, and given them a real makeover. How would you describe The Man Hamper Trio’s sound?

I nominally designed it however the reality is that its basically a rip off of a Saul Bass sleeve he did for Duke Ellington. We began mining that seam again within the Milkshakes when Bruce (Model) did the sleeve for Thee Knights of Trashe.
The album closes with a storming cowl of Jimi Hendrix’s “Fireplace”. What do you suppose Jimi would make of your model?
I’ve been a fan of Jimi since my elder brother introduced his data house within the ’60s. Jimi was well-known to “dig” others work and interpretations and would little doubt smile, slim his smoky eyes and say “cool man!” and I’d little doubt reply “wizard Jimi!”
