Richie has since responded to the information in an announcement that reads: “I’m immensely grateful for a profession that has taken me to locations I by no means imagined that I’d go, from arenas worldwide to studio units to the AMA stage.”
“I can recall one of many first occasions I acquired to carry out on the AMAs. It was to sing ‘We Are the World’ among the many most iconic musicians of my era, so it’s surreal to be receiving this recognition 36 years later,” he continued.
Richie is likely one of the most adorned artists of all time. Having been inducted into the Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame, he has scored 5 Billboard Scorching 100 #1 singles as a solo artist and has received 4 Grammy Awards, an Oscar, and a Golden Globe.
The fiftieth annual American Music Awards will likely be held on November 20 on the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
