The Welsh Lord's Convenient BrideThe Welsh Lord’s Handy Bride by Lissa Morgan

4 stars

The Welsh Lord’s Handy Bride is historic romance set within the Welsh Marches through the late 13th century.

The Welsh Marches was a frontier land that straddled what we all know at this time because the borders between England and Wales. Within the center ages it was a spot of fixed conflict and revolt. As this story opens, Eleanor de Vraille travels to Castelle y Lleuad the place she is to marry Rhun ab Owain as a part of peace treaty deal. The treaty was agreed years in the past between their respective fathers and now that Rhun is the Lord, he is able to get married.

Each Rhun and the fort are, at first, hostile to Eleanor. She doesn’t converse Welsh and he or she is at a loss to know why Rhun dislikes her a lot; she even considers returning to her English dwelling, however there she would face a father who despises her. When a brand new rebellion towards the English king begins, Rhun will help his Welsh comrades, which forces Eleanor to decide on sides.

I loved Eleanor’s willpower to interrupt Rhun’s dislike of her. I haven’t learn every other books on this setting and the creator’s historic notes on the again had been most fascinating. A superb debut novel.
