Spring is my favorite time of yr. I get very excited by hotter days, longer daylight, birds nesting and bees awakening. One thing occurs to my fingers every springtime; they get itchy to plant issues!
Iām a plant addict!
Confession 1: Iāve already planted plenty of seeds!
Confession 2: Iāve gone too early with a few of themš
Confession 3: On a regular basis I proudly beam over my rising seedlings, clucking spherical them like a mom hen.
So once I noticed this tweet by Padraig (from the three hairs weblog) this week, I couldnāt assist retweeting it and eager to share it with my readers. It sums issues as much as a āTā at my place.š

Photograph one is of my āinexperiencedā hellebore. I donāt know the range, however I do know that I’ve left the plant too lengthy it a pot and it wants re-potting or planting out within the backyard. It received put right into a pot after we moved home and I admit to forgetting about it. However after it flowers I shall plant it into a brand new flower mattress.
Photograph two is an orchid which has been battling with woolly aphid all winter. The aphids got here in, I imagine, on a brand new orchid which they destroyed. I’ve been choosing them off by hand every day reasonably than spraying with chemical substances.

I had a pack with 6 varieties, every pack solely had 15 seeds, which didnāt sound many on the time, so I planted 2 tray fulls, anticipating a number of weeks till the seedlings had been massive sufficient to pot-on. Nicelyā¦7 days after plantingā¦they wanted potting onš®. Varieties are: Alaska blended, Jewel Cherry Rose, Empress of India, Jewel blended, Gleaming Gold and Trailing blended -lesson learnt ā nasturtiums germinated quick!
Fifth picture is of this tiny white orchid (selection unknown) which can be flowering.
Sixth picture is of the extra sedate and slower rising Salvia (Blaze Of Fireplace), 11 seedlings from 12 seeds. Iām pleased with that germination price and velocity.
