It’s the final Saturday in July and the backyard is having fun with the solar and rain combos that we’ve been having this week.
I’ve been doing a little bit of thrifty plant 🍃shopping for. After a visit to the dentist😁 I rewarded myself with a rummage within the gross sales part on the native backyard centre. I purchased 5 vegetation at £1 every and two pairs of gardening gloves which have been purchase one get one free. Complete spend £7.99.🤑 In my haul I had two Hollyhocks – Mars Magic which can have pink flowers and Chaters Double Purple, which I’m enthusiastic about because it guarantees double purple blooms. Subsequent was a Veronica Trehane for a little bit of floor cowl in a semi shady spot, then Anacyclus silver kisses😘, one other floor cowl fashion plant for the pond space and lastly a small pot of Semperviviums, the pot has 10 rosettes of various sizes, so I’m hopeful to get one thing from it.
Again to this week’s #SixOnSaturday.
First picture exhibits a few of my Salpiliglossis Sinuata – Superbissima, generally referred to as Painted Tongue. It is a very fairly, multi-coloured annual and I grew them from seed🌱. I threw the entire packet right into a pot just a few months in the past and the germination charge was spectacular😲! So sure, I’ve them everywhere in the backyard.🥴
Second picture is a Dahlia – Carolina Moon – which is new to me this yr. I picked it up at a Nationwide Backyard Scheme open day about six weeks in the past. I dithered over the acquisition because the plant was already fairly tall and we had a little bit of a hike again to the automotive. My buddy and I went and had tea☕ and cake 🍰and I stated that if the plant was nonetheless there after we had completed, I’d purchase it. So right here it’s.👀
Third picture is a mixture of Shasta Daisy, Mallow (grown from seed final yr) and Penstemon (grown from seed two years in the past.)💗
Picture 4 is slightly blurry; they’re such a shiny pink and the auto-focus 📸refused to sharpen the picture. It is a Dianthus – Rocking Purple and got here to me as plug vegetation.
Picture 4 is of my One Ball Marrow plant (Purchased as a part of a combined vegetable tray of vegetation about six weeks in the past from Longacres backyard centre at Bagshot. It was my first go to to this backyard centre and I used to be impressed with the costs of the vegetation. I’ve it sat in an enormous tub which I full of a lot of vegetable and farmyard manures, plus previous compost from used pots. I’m happy with all of the fruits and I’ve already harvested two. I allow them to get to a few small melon dimension earlier than choosing to encourage extra fruits.
Final picture is of a Purple Sunflower🌻, these have grown from saved seed which I dotted across the backyard again within the spring. It’s not notably tall, however I like the colouring.
That’s all from me this week.
